The biggest strength of a telephoto lens is that you can shoot without getting close to your subject. Even sparrows in the city are easier to catch.
Redesigned for the RF mount, the RF70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM focuses as close as 70cm. I could shoot small roadside flowers just the way I wanted, and I started noticing subjects at my feet, not only things far away. Little by little, I took more photos at 200mm from up close.

This is a lens that makes you want to shoot vertically. Looking back, 70% of the photos I took were vertical compositions.

Paired with the EOS R6, coordinated image stabilization gives up to 7.5 stops. I didn’t have to worry about camera shake, and I used it freely for snapshots.
It’s a lens that weighs over 1kg. Even so, the more I used it, the more I loved it.
